Guide to St. Barts Island

If you are traveling to St Barts, you will need to have certain items with you. After all, it would be a shame to plan your entire vacation and then have to cancel or delay at the last minute because you don’t have everything you need.

Here are some things to double check for before you finalize your arrangements:

Europe

European travelers must have an identity card or a valid passport. 


USA & Canada

United States and Canadian travelers must have a passport that has been valid for at least three months.

Return Ticket

All travelers can be asked for a return or onward ticket.

Visa

Certain nationalities must have a visa obtained from French embassies in their originating countries.

Vaccines

No vaccination papers are necessary unless you are entering from an endemic country.

Customs

Items for personal use are permitted without formalities and taxes as long as they are not being brought in excessive quantities.

Pets are allowed on the island but they must have a certificate of good health that is no more than five days old and proof of an anti-rabies vaccination that was given at least 30 days (but no more than 12 months) ago.


Documents must be issued by a veterinarian registered to practice in the traveler’s country of origin.

Dogs must be microchipped upon entry.
